An end of year letter from Pastor Joel

Joel Hunter

Dear Northland family,

On behalf of all the thousands who are living transformed lives because God has touched them through our church, thank you! Your giving this year has resulted in people being saved, marriages being reconciled, new churches being established, and people turning away from destructive behaviors - now walking in the light of Christ.

It is humbling to know how much God is using us, but we have a special challenge in the next week.  As 2016 comes to a close, we are running behind in our offerings ($1,487,620). We know from past years that we can make this up if we all pull together. Year-end contributions are a normal part of the giving flow so the ministry needs of the church at the close of every year depend on them. The generosity of this congregation in year-end giving has been consistently amazing, but this year, because Christmas weekend is the last full weekend of the year and December 31 falls on a Saturday, it is important for me to alert you to the need. We all are prayerful and hopeful that the Lord will bring the resources required.

Would you please join the rest of the congregation in helping to meet the current need? Would you ask the Lord, “What can I do to help in this need?”

Jesus said, “...keep on storing up treasures for yourselves in heaven, where moths and rust do not destroy and where thieves do not break in and steal, because where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Matthew 6:20 (NIV)

Thank you for joining Becky and me in making sure we end the year strong.

Blessings and love,

Pastor Joel
